VEGAS! - in the multi-award winning VOODOO ROOMS, on Saturday the 28th of March 2009
A wallet-friendly 'Voodoo Rooms' VEGAS! was packed
with the sharpest-looking crowd in town! Marking the world-wide celebrations
for the 95th birthday of Lindy-Hop legend Frankie Manning
(yes, he's really 95, and he's still swingin'!),
there was an energetic demonstration of 'The Shim-Sham' performed by the
local EdinBop swing-dancers, which was filmed and will be appearing on
the internet in the not-too-distant future. There was also another couple
of very special performances, from MISSY MALONE -
the Queen of Scottish Burlesque - who enthralled the crowd with
her astonishingly artistic routines and tassle-swingin' talent! Resident
music maestro Frankie Sumatra, ably assisted by Dino Martini, Bugsy Seagull
and San Jose, kept the crowd dancin' all night long, and high-rollers
were gambling their 'Elvis' dollars and winning free drinks with The Scott
Brothers in the Stardust Lounge Casino, down in The Speakeasy. In addition
to all that, everyone at VEGAS! welcomed back to the Showgirl line-up,
the ultra-glamorous NIKKI NEVADA (who'd just returned from a lengthy
world tour), and the gals shook their tail-feathers like never before!
Yup, it was another spectacular night at VEGAS!
